My Path to Elite Gymnastics
Hi, my name is Olivia, but my friends call me Livvy. I started gymnastics when i was three years old because I wanted a sparkly pink leotard. But, little did I know what an exciting future was ahead of me. When I was five years old, I was invited to try out for the pre-team at my gym ENA. Once I started competing, i knew I had a passion for the sport. After winning level 4 State Championships and beating the state all-around record, I moved from level 5 to level 8 in one year. When I was nine years old, I competed level 9 and made it to regionals. The next year, at ten years old, I competed level 10 and went to NIT. My coach and I decided to try and qualify for the U.S. Challenge. I was so excited when I accomplished my goal and came in second place, for the hopes division. During the 2013/2014 season I worked really hard to upgrade my skills and was the youngest athlete in the country to qualify as a Jr.International Elite. I competed at the 2015 American Classic and finished 8th in the all around. I achieved a qualifying score to compete at the 2015 P&G National Championships!
In 2016 I competed at the Bresteyn’s Elite Qualifier in Las Vegas where I came in first place on Floor. I debuted a new floor routine that included some upgrades such as a double layout and a 2 1/2 twist. In North Carolina at the KPAC Elite Qualifier, I came in first place on beam with a 14.2. At the 2016 Secret U.S. Classic, I received my qualifying score to P&G Championships in St.Louis, Missouri. I went on to compete at the 2016 P&G Championships and earned two medals, on floor and beam.
I attended National Team Camps at the USA Olympic Training Center in Texas. In March 2017 I was selected to represent the United States in Italy at the Jesolo Trophy competition. It was such an honor to be added to the USA National Team. Our USA junior team won the gold All Around medal! It was very exciting.
In the spring of 2017 I accepted a full athletic scholarship to LSU for the year 2020. I look forward to joining their team in the future. During the 2017 elite season I competed successfully at the US Classic in Chicago, coming home with 3 medals for beam, floor, and 5th place All Around. I also competed at P&G championships in California where I won medals on floor and beam.
In 2018 I made my senior debut in Jesolo, Italy. I also competed at the 2018 US Classic and 2020 USA National Championships in Boston.
In fall of 2019 I signed my National Letter of Intent to attend LSU on a full athletic scholarship for gymnastics. I also began competing Level 10, winning first place in the all-around at The Atlanta Centennial Classic in Georgia, Classic Rock Invitational in Arizona, and Elevate the Stage in Ohio. I qualified with a top score in the Elevate the State meet for the 2020 Nastia Cup held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on March 6th.
Fashion & Design
I love fashion design. I especially enjoy participating in the design of my custom leotards. I get to work on everything from the original sketches to fabric selection with my coach, Jen. It is so exciting when the finished designs win leotard contests and online polls. I love to see my ideas come to life.
